Mattia Cristofoli was born in Verona in 1984, his childhood was marked by constant travel experiences, which arouse in him singular curiosity and mature diverse knowledges.
Gradually, but steadily growing, the ability and the desire to discern overlooked objects or places set aside emerge in him.
But it will be only later, when the approach to photography, will become, beyond passion, an accurate process of study and interpretation that will be able to merge his research on “abandoned history” with the beauty of the image, rediscovering a value through a camera lens.
It may seem like a desperate attempt to preserve at all costs what we have deliberately abandoned, while it is a photographic labyrinth, through which Mattia guides us with introspection, and where every picture tells us: “It ‘s our history”
